Route C411 is a local route in the rural southern outskirts of Launceston, connecting Hobart Road (C402 - formerly the Midland Highway) with C412 near White Hills. Carrying mainly rural residential and local agricultural traffic, C411 also provides access to a number of small wineries at Relbia. It is sealed throughout its length.
Prior to March 2008, C411 only appeared on one sign - at its south-eastern end - making it a one-hit wonder. However, Launceston City Council addressed this issue by installing a double-sided fingerboard assembly at the intersection with Hobart Road (C402), following representations from Peter Renshaw. Unfortunately, they did not include the appropriate focal point - Relbia.

C412 traffic can continue straight onto C411 without noticing. Also note that the NH1 shield refers to what is now C402, but was part of the Midland Highway when this sign was installed. The blank coverplate covers a National Highway 1 shield from when Hobart Rd was part of the Midland Highway. Bottom: C411 fingerboard sign installed in March 2008, following representations from Peter Renshaw to Launceston City Council. This sign means that C411 is no longer a one-hit wonder, however it does not include the appropriate focal point - Relbia. |
