Introduced: 1980
Length: 14km
Northern Terminus: Bridport Main Rd (B82) & Ferny Hill Rd (C826), 9km west of Bridport
Southern Terminus: Golconda Rd (B81) & Ferny Hill Rd (C826), Golconda
Route taken: Ferny Hill Rd
Focal Points: Golconda
Responsibility: Local Government
C826 is a 14km long, mostly unsealed link between Bridport Main Rd (B82) and Golconda Rd (B81), forming part of the shortest route between Launceston and Bridport. However, the low standard of the route relative to the nearby C818 (Pipers Brook Rd) and C827 (Bridport Back Rd) means that it is not a heavily used route.
For several years prior to 2009 there had been no fingerboard signs at the southern end of the route, making it a one-hit wonder. Council have since installed fingerboard signs denoting the junction, following representations from Peter Renshaw, and the route is now fully signposted.
