C738 is short rural connector in the Meander Valley, linking C732 with the townships of Carrick and Hadspen on the B54. It is sealed throughout its length.

C738 branches from C732 near Westwood, heading east along the eastern leg of Westwood Rd before turning south to cross the Meander River and meet the B54 midway between Carrick and Hadspen.

	In 2010, Meander Valley Council attempted to renew the fingerboards at the above intersection. Somehow, C738 inexplicably became B84! A quiet word of advice from Peter Renshaw ensured a correction was made soon afterwards. Note that the focal points of 'To NH1' were not revised - the distances should be 9km (left) and 8km (right), however signage where C738 meets B54 does not give directions to NH1 so more appropriate focal points would be Hadspen or Carrick.
