Route C725 - Spring Hill Main Road - is a candidate for the shortest C route in Tasmania, stretching a mere 1km between the West Tamar and Batman Highways. It functions as a short cut for traffic between Batman Bridge, Beaconsfield and points north.
In June 2008, the intersection of Spring Hill Main Road (C725) and Batman Highway (B73) was reconstructed to give priority to Batman Highway traffic. Prior to this, traffic to/from Exeter had to give way to Spring Hill Main Road traffic.

Fingerboard signs at the junction of West Tamar Highway (A7) & Spring Hill Main Rd (C725). I don't know why, but the A7 fingerboards face the left-turn lane of Spring Hill Main Rd, rather than the right-turn lane, which would make more sense. Source: Peter Renshaw, July 2007 |
