C707 is a minor rural route in northern Tasmania, running north-south from Squeaking Point Rd (C709) to Port Sorell Main Rd (B74). Sealed throughout its length, it is of a reasonable alignment, however it does not fulfil any important function other than serving local traffic movements in the Port Sorell district. It follows the western bank of Applebys Creek for most of its length, which is the origin of the Applebys Rd name.

Wooden Council signs at the intersection of Squeaking Point Rd (C709) & Applebys Rd (C707), 1km east of Thirlstane. Note the unusual reference to Port Sorell Main Rd - declared road names are not usually signposting apart from on State Highways. |

Top: Deteriorating fingerboard signs at the intersection of Squeaking Point Rd (C709) & Applebys Rd (C707). Note the lack of a focal destination for C707 - this reflects the fact that C707 doesn't really lead to any significant destination at its northern end, as it is quicker to reach Port Sorell via C709 and C708. Bottom: Following representations from Peter Renshaw, Latrobe Council renewed the route markers on this fingerboard assembly in July 2008 - a low cost way of extending the useful life of these signs. |
