C704 is a minor rural route in northern Tasmania, running east-west between the Bass Highway (NH1) near Latrobe and Chapel Rd (C713) at Harford. It serves an alternative route for Latrobe/Sassafras residents to reach the Port Sorell and Frankford districts, as well as fertile farming land along its length. It is sealed throughout its length, however it has poor vertical and horizontal alignment, reflecting its function as a lower order rural road.

Oppenheims Rd (C704) looking south-west towards a ninety-degree bend as the road follows long-established property boundaries. The junction with Bass Highway (NH1) is actually directly ahead, beyond the rise in the distance, however Oppenheims Rd (C704) takes the long way, via the former junction with Bass Highway.
