NATIONAL HIGHWAY 23
Former Alignment: Collector
The Federal Highway served as the main street of the tiny town of Collector for 58 years before it was bypassed in June 1988. The old route was narrow, winding and flood prone as well as having a horrible quality pavement. The bypass had to be constructed largely as a long bridge across the Collector Creek floodplain. There are no remnants of NH23 signage along the old alignment however there are many black non-reflective painted signs.
