PRINCES HIGHWAY
Former Alignment: Gerringong
The Princes Highway originally passed through the centre of the tiny coastal village of Gerringong, about 8km south of Kiama. The deviation between the old railway station at Ooaree Creek and Gerringong Railway Station was one of the first undertaken by the Main Roads Board, opening to traffic in May 1931. The deviation bypassed two railway crossings and improvec a flood-prone section of highway at Ooaree Creek.
