PACIFIC HIGHWAY
Section: Cairncross to Telegraph Point

Looking north between Cairncross and Telegraph Point. The rest of this section of the highway looks pretty much like this. Nov 2005.

This 5km section of the Pacific Highway extends from Blackmans Point Road to just south of Pembrooke Road , passing through the Caincross State Forest and Cairncross East Nature Reserve. Since gazettal in 1928, it has been part of the Pacific Highway with only minor improvements such as pavement widening, strengthening and resurfacing having been carried out over the years.

This section of the highway falls under the scope of the Oxley Highway to Kempsey Upgrade project as part of the broader Pacific Highway Upgrading Programme. It is likely that the highway will be duplicated along this section with only a 1.5km section requiring realignment to maintain a 110km/h design speed. The project is currently in the route development phase and no construction timeframe has been set.
