Route Overview:
William Hovell Drive and Kingsford Smith Drive combine to provide a southern and eastern boundary to the Belconnen area. William Hovell Drive is still largely rural, while Kingsford Smith Drive is urban dual carriageway. The first section of Kingsford Msith Drive, between Ginninderra Dr and Belconnen Way opened in 1971 and construction of the entrie route was complete by 1980. The name change takes place at the intersection with Drake Brockman Drive, Higgins.
