VICTORIA

Welcome to Victoria, Australia's most densely populated state, with a fine-grained arterial road network to match.
The route numbering system is a mish-mash of the old shielded routes and newer alpha-numeric routes, with some interesting overlaps on Melbourne's fringes. Combine this with numerous unbuilt freeways and plenty of bypassed highway alignments, and there's plenty of interest for all sorts of road enthusiasts.
Victorian content on Ozroads is provided by sister site Main Roads Victoria, created by Ozroads' biggest contributor, Viseth Uch. You'll find plenty of his fantastic photographs and mapping work over there, as well as more of my history articles and photographs. So why not take a look around.
