Route Overview:
In short, this route was one of the most useless state routes ever signposted. It was completely useless as a whole, anyone following it from end to end would have to be nuts, as it follows the most round-about course possible. Perhaps its only positive was that it gave important roads through Mt Druitt and around Blacktown City Centre a route number. It also provided a route number from the M4 to access Blacktown and Mt Druitt. It uselessness was seemingly recongised by the RTA who decomissioned it only 6 years after signing it in the first place, in 1998.
I have only found one remnant of SR63 still in existance, at the intersection of Roper Rd and Carlisle Ave, Colyton. The remainder of signage along the route is littered with blank coverplates, quite obviously covering SR63 shields. The route had one former duplex, along Rooty Hill Rd Nth with SR61.
