PRINCES HIGHWAY
Former Alignment: Corunna

As part of the progressive bitumen sealing of the Princes Highway, an 11km deviation was constructed along the east side of Corunna Lake, south of Narooma. Opened in August 1965, the deviation provided a much improved alignment as well as a dust-free surface. The old highway is still traffickable but is unsealed for all but 2km at its northern end.

Better quality road at the northern end of the old alignment. Jul 2005.
A typical gravel section of the road, about halfway through. Jul 2005.
The gravel ends at the single-lane Corunna Bridge. Only a k or two to the current highway from here. Jul 2005.
